Vijaliwa Vingi Water Analysis Report
1.0 Introduction:
Assessment of the performance of the Water Purification Unit MAJI 350 which is located at Vijaliwa vingi Pre & Primary School in Mlandizi Kibaha District, Coast region, was conducted on 28th February 2022 by Staff from the Central Water Laboratory in the Department of Water Quality of The Ministry of Water. The purpose of this assessment was to ascertain the safety of treated water being used by students and teachers in Vijaliwa vingi Pre & Primary School which has a population of more than 40 (according to the Head Teacher), hence ascertain efficiency of the water treatment/purification system which was installed in this school on February 2022.
2.0 Methodology:
Three water sample were collected from three locations, these are: (1) Raw water from the receiving tank before entering to purification unit, (2) treated water from purification unit and (3) treated water from reservoir tank for treated water.
Physical parameters were measured on-site and sample for bacteriological test were transported to the Central Water Laboratory and tested according to procedures stipulated in Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater 23rd Edition.
3.0 Results:
The analytical results for physical and bacteriological quality are presented hereunder.
